Our church is really about one Person - Jesus Christ. We try to follow Jesus in every aspect of our lives including how we meet together as the church. Here are a few elements of what you can expect when coming to Good News.
We believe that one of the main activities of the church is to hear from God through the exposition of the Bible. We believe that the Bible is to be interpreted in a literal way. This is why it is so important to go verse by verse through God's Word to understand what He has to say and what He wants us to do. We read, sing, memorize, and preach the Word at Good News.
The Westminister Shorter Catechism states that our chief end is to "glorify God and to enjoy Him forever." One of the ways we do this is by singing together. We sing songs of praise and truth about our God in worship of His Great Name because He deserves it.
Prayer is communication with God. He talks to us through His Word and we respond through prayer. In prayer, we worship Him, request His help, and acknowledge our reliance on Him.
All of us at Good News are friends. We care for one another and want to help each other whenever we can. We're not a church of perfect people. Actually, we're a group of imperfect people who care about other imperfect people.
We would love to have you come worship Jesus with us and give us the opportunity to get to know you.
